How do I find out about mooring bookings?

When will Campbell Wharf be completed?

The development will be fully complete by 2024 following the phased delivery of individual buildings and apartment blocks over the next few years. The Campbell Wharf Marina opens in April 2019 and first apartment blocks will be ready from October 2019.

What are the different types of housing?

Campbell Wharf provides a range of new homes including 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom houses and 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments. There are 3-storey canalside houses with courtyard gardens overlooking the Grand Union Canal; 3-storey detached villas with views across to Campbell Park; and 2-storey 2 and 3 bedroom mews houses.

The apartments are located within 5 buildings, The first two (Wharf View and Canal House) are located in the heart of the development overlooking the new public square, the bridge and lay-by marina. The other 3 apartment buildings have landscaped courtyards with parking beneath.

What are the parking provisions?

Parking is allocated for each property – with spaces underneath the apartment blocks and within each plot for the houses. Visitor parking is also available.

What are the additional Campbell Wharf amenities?

There will be a Canalside pub with great views of the canal and marina. A range of small retail units is planned around the central space and these will be available to lease from Autumn 2019. It is hoped the occupiers will include a coffee shop and local food store.

A site is identified for a nursery to provide childcare facilities. The site will be marketed and brought forward as part of the final phase of development.

Is there any affordable housing at Campbell Wharf?

The delivery of 115 affordable homes, including shared ownership apartments, means that 30 percent of the homes in the development will be affordable housing. The remaining 268 homes will be delivered by Crest Nicholson for open market sale.

How do I register my interest in the Campbell Wharf retail units?

Campbell Wharf includes a range of small commercial and retail units, between 800 sqft and 5,000 sqft, and these will be available to lease from Autumn 2019. If you buy a house at Campbell Wharf do you also get a mooring at the Marina?

Why have some of the local public footpaths been diverted?

For safety reasons, it has been necessary to install hoarding around the perimeter of the construction site. A short section of the existing path to the east of Overgate will be closed during construction. Alternative routes for pedestrian access between Avebury Boulevard and the Canal are available through Campbell Park and across the footbridge.

The towpath along the Grand Union Canal was closed in November 2018 to install and construct the new footbridge. Alternative routes for pedestrians, cyclists and horse-riders are in place along the recently improved bridleway and Frobisher Gate. The towpath should reopen by April 2019.

Please follow the diversion signs around the site to reach alternative access routes.

What wildlife provisions have been included?

The marina has a soft edging to encourage flowers and reeds to grow and attract insects such as dragonflies as well as newts.
Bird and bat boxes will be installed around the development.
