Milton Keynes Community Boat – New year update

Work on the community boat project has been progressing well since the last public meeting in November, with more funding now secured and the boat specification almost finalised.

A number of people have expressed their interest in volunteering to crew the boat, and a funding team is now working on the strategy to gather all of the funds required to buy the boat. More volunteers are always needed, and we would be particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may like to be a Cabin Host – it’s a great people-facing role, out and about on the water.

The next open meeting will be held on Wednesday 22 January, 7-9pm at the Parks Trust Pavilion, 1300 Silbury Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 4AD. There will be a short recap on the project and updates on the funding search, the boat specification, routes and Santa cruises research, and the management team. Following this, the meeting will break into a workshop for everyone to review the draft crew training programme, 2020 cruise schedule and rostering.

All are welcome to join us at this meeting and/or the final open meeting, which will be held on Monday 09 March, 7-9pm at the Parks Trust Pavilion.
