Campbell Wharf News – Autumn 2020

Welcome to the latest edition of Campbell Wharf e-news, packed full of updates about what has been happening on-site.

So far, this has been a challenging year for all of us. At Campbell Wharf, the spring lockdown and the social distancing rules that have followed mean that our work programme had to be redesigned. In December, the bridge will be fully opened and the retail units near Campbell Wharf’s new homes are expected to become available for letting. It is hoped these units will be occupied in spring 2021. More details can be found in the articles below.

In the meantime, we hope you keep well and are able to get out and enjoy Campbell Wharf as it continues to develop.

Campbell Wharf’s new bridge

Our iconic new bridge will soon be fully open to the public, making access across both sides of the Grand Union Canal straightforward and stylish. The bridge links the new homes and retail units on the side of the Canal together with Campbell Wharf Marina and of course the planned new pub to be brought forward by McMullens. The bridge will be fully accessible to everyone so walkers, cyclists, and those with pushchairs or wheelchairs will all be able to make full use of this improved access.

Shared ownership now on offer

One and two bedroom apartments are now available as part of Domovo Homes’ shared ownership scheme at Campbell Wharf. Initial shares can be purchased for between 25% and 75% of the total value, with prices starting from £50,000 for a 25% share of a 1 bed apartment. For more information, please visit Domovo Homes.

All aboard for Campbell Wharf’s new community boat

A new community trip boat is being brought to Milton Keynes and will be based out of Campbell Wharf Marina. The boat will be run by the Bedford & Milton Keynes Waterway Trust and will run trips up the Grand Union Canal for the public and private groups, seasonal specials and much more.

Crest Nicholson has been working with the BMK Waterways Trust to develop the project and full funding was secured in June this year with the help of Crest’s S106 contributions for the development. The boat is now being built and will start to run trips from spring 2021. Further information is available here.
